Thanks to everyone that came. Japan’s first SIDEROOM.COM party lived up to the usual high standard of audio/visual stimulating hilarity. DJs REAL, JOJI, WATARU, spinning everything from sugarpie huneybunch to japanese electro-metal.
Local Nagaoka bands THE PARTIES (punk) and SEI TEN TAI SEI (Junky Monkey Gods) played the best sets Ive ever seen here in Nagaoka. Gross NZ Boy Band KIWI DANCE TOWN also played the best set of their dubious careers ending in the trade mark undie routine.
THE FUCKING PANDA and THE FUCKING FROG accompanied by Shoko san the booty shaking reggae dancer impressed the crowd with their energetic mix of costumed video antics on the streets of Nagaoka, as well as their live boxing gloved 80’s electro computer disco japanese rap skills and pelvic thrusts. High lights in their set included the “ham sausage looks delicious, i want to eat ham sausage” song as well as “Im the fucking panda, and im the fucking frog” intro 日本語をã¹ã‚“ãょã†ã—ãŸã„ã€ã„ã¤ã‚‚ã‚“ãŠãªã«ã€æ™‚é–“ãªã„ï¼ï¼ˆI want to study japanese but im always masterbating, so i dont have time)

Last month sideroom made its Japan debut at the Tokyo Design Festa, the biggest Art festival in Asia, with hundreds of stalls, exhibitors and performances over a weekend. The sideroom stall was a blue tarpolan shack, replicating the hobo houses that dot the Japanese urban landscape.

Inside we ran a couple of laptops with a demo of Sideroom.com, short flicks and pics of the Sidroom.com's collectives art. Kiwidance town even made an apperance on the fashion cat walk, at one point brawlling dressed as artic animals KDT also played the last performance of the weekend on the projection stage, drawing the biggest crowds of the weekend. Check the blog for pics. Representing NZ to Japan,
