Sideroom.com was launched in 2004 as an online art gallery dedicated to providing emerging artists with a no cost platform to gain exposure within the creative community.

Sideroom.com published a journal in 2005 showcasing some of our creative collaborations, increasing exposure for both Sideroom.com and the artists we support.

The following year Sideroom.com travelled and lived outside of New Zealand, throwing successful events in Wellington, Melbourne, Tokyo and Nagaoka and meeting a broad range of international talent along the way.

On returning to Auckland in 2007, full of new ideas from our experiences abroad, Sideroom.com decided to launch two large scale ventures. The first magazine was launched in June and a few weeks later the doors to Sideroom.com Gallery and Creative Space were opened in Kingsland, Auckland.

Soon to follow was SideroomTV, a weekly art focused variety show on Alt TV with a prime slot at 10pm Wednesday, giving us optimum positioning for our target demographic.

Sideroom.com Gallery and Creative Space has become the epicentre of our activities for the past year; for art shows, the magazine and TV show and the continued development of a growing creative community.
