A message to budding photographers.

contradictions_shoot-web.jpg

A bit about it?
Its a meet and greet for photographers and shoot on location… We’ve already got a number of prof/semi prof photographers coming along so come join in! The location is an abandoned building in town which will nice to go into with a group, and the grafiti art inside is awesome..

I am sourcing models and theme is just there for guidance - each to their own interpretation. Contradiction - Grafiti vs Glamour… etc.. Any questions pop me an email! Or visit http://www.missphloss.com/

I will send those interested release forms for them and the models, and just before the day I’ll email everyone the location. Numbers are limited!

Should be lots of fun!

Where we’re at. |

horse-rider_0006_28_05_2008.jpg

Ok so some people may have heard that Sideroom.com is closing. This is not true. We are taking this wild horse by the reigns and giving it some solid direction. We have realised we have been cruising a bit this year so it is time to step it up. We’ll fill you in when we are all ready.

The blog has been left a bit neglected again as we approach the release of our 3rd mag, the pressure is on! Watch out kiddies this time its the erotic special. Due for release 4 July 2008 with another big f@#kn party as usual.

As far as shows go we are working on a few very exciting ones to be held at the new 42 Below Space “formerly Avaia gallery” these are not too far away. One of these shows will feature some famous international stencil artists coming to NZ for the first time.

As well as all this we were just filmed for AUT’s “What I want to be when I grow up” campaign to be screened on MTV in July.

Check out some photos here.

RETROBOTS

Friday, 6th June, 6pm
Letham Gallery - 35 Jervoice Rd, Ponsonby

robots_martin-horspool.jpg

Martin  Horspool’s quirky robots are born out of pre-loved objects from another era, so expect a bit of time travel when The Letham Gallery is taken over by more than 20 metal assemblages between 6th and 18th June

Every robot contains original pieces from the 50’s and 60’s and he finds it important for people to recognise the individual components that make up each one. Read the rest of this entry »

Spencer Harrington - Solo |

This Friday get along to Sideroom.com Gallery and check out Spencer Harringtons solo show.

Keeping in line with our lateset Garage Sale show, expect to see heaps of cheap works made affordable to his mates who have supported Spencer over the years. “An exhibition designed espically for the poor students, the part time workers, and the struggling musicians that are my mates.”  The show will also feature a performance by Dirty Dishes.
